Celebrating 13 Years!

This month I am celebrating the fact that I’ve been at work on my music project called UFOverdriver for 13 years now! During that time I’ve created numerous albums and EPs and even developed a (very) small following.

UFOverdriver’s output can be defined as three different periods – so far, with this last year being the completion of version 3. It was born as a sound collage project, then grew into an ambient music project, now it’s whatever it is – some genre-less wanderer in search of an audience.

About this collection: 3.3 – I had a very prolific Fall this year writing music. I wrote 61 songs from September through the end of the year… most of those for my UFOverdriver project. The songs were culled and released during the Fall as three different EPs and several albums. From those releases I have picked out my favorite cuts and boiled all that work down into one album that defines this last year’s work. Why is it called 3.3? That, my friend, is a mystery…

Frankly, I haven’t a clue as to what band I can compare UFOverdriver with… nothing really sounds like it. I’m very influenced by Brian Eno and Pink Floyd but don’t sound like them at all. Sometimes I call it “music for thinking” because that’s what I use it for on occasion. But it’s more than that… space jazz, soundscapes, mellow-down chill tunes, art music… I don’t know what to call it, but maybe you do.
